Former Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann was arrested early Sunday morning for kidnapping and false imprisonment of his wife. Following the arrest, WWE announced that Swann was suspended indefinitely.
The Gainesville Police Department released the following tweet which included the arrest record, and mugshot from the incident.

Swann made his debut for the company in 2015 in the Cruiserweight Classic and was scheduled to take on Drew Gulak tomorrow night on Raw, for an opportunity to face Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore at the Royal Rumble in a Championship match.
With Swann suspended that leaves that match up in the air. WWE has time to hold another match to find a competitor for Gulak before the Rumble. It’s unfortunate because it looked like Swann was set to take on Amore for the Cruiserweight title at the Royal Rumble.
But that still leaves Swann’s future with the company in doubt. WWE has a “zero tolerance policy” regarding domestic violence matters. What Swann did is deplorable, and according to Mirror Swann’s charges are punishable by up to $5,000 and up to five years in jail if he’s convicted.
WWE has had former superstars charged with domestic violence charges, most recently Adam Rose. WWE suspended Rose indefinitely, and Rose was never seen on WWE TV again, as he was released shortly after WrestleMania later that year.
It will be interesting to see if WWE gives Swann another chance, or if they release him. Swann’s future with the company will depend on how things play with him in the coming months. Still though, don’t expect to see Swann on WWE TV anytime soon.
