NJPW: Shibata to Lead New Japan Dojo

Announced earlier this evening, injured star Katsuyori Shibata will be the head trainer at the New Japan Dojo in Los Angeles. Shibata is most recently remembered for his last match with IWGP Champion, Kazuchika Okada. In the match, Shibata delivered a headbutt to Okada that gave him a severe concussion. In the time after the match, Shibata would regain feeling in his limbs and regain his faculties.

Shibata is known for his incredibly athletic style as well as his strikes. He is the dictionary definition of strong style. Unfortunately, we will never see Shibata wrestle again, but he will now have a deeper impact on the business. With Shibata heading the New Japan Dojo and the talks of independent standout Brody King being a trainee, the new Dojo is off to a hot start.
