It was announced on one of the final RAW’s before WrestleMania that both battle royals will be on the pre-show. We still don’t know how many and the exact list of entrants with the event just hours away. So this preview will be based on who we do know and who I think may walk away with the “W.”

Known Entrants:

  • Sasha Banks
  • Becky Lynch
  • Bayley
  • Naomi
  • Natalya
  • Ruby Riott
  • Sarah Logan
  • Liv Morgan
  • Lana
  • Mandy Rose
  • Sonya Deville
  • Mickie James
  • Carmella
  • Dana Brooke

So with a nearly even split between RAW and SmackDown Live, this is the field we have set. It’s pretty clear that more women will be involved in the match and as it’s WrestleMania, I’m sure some surprises. Some storylines we could see play out in the match are Absolution facing off against the Riott Squad, a Four Horsewomen standoff, and the obvious, Bayley vs. Sasha.

The big build has been for the last mentioned above, Sasha and Bayley. The slow burn storytelling of these best friends turned rivals has taken months to tell. There has been a tease of these two turning on one another for a long time now but with it really gaining steam starting at the Royal Rumble. The way this match build has been it truly feels it will come down to these two squaring off.

To me, Sasha Banks needs to win. Not only does she need to win, but she needs to do it while screwing Bayley over. I can see Banks and Bayley working together just out of necessity and when Bayley has her guard down, Sasha tosses her out. Thus sending us into Bayley vs. Sasha through the summer with the big blowoff at Summer Slam.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Known Entrants:

  • Dash Wilder
  • Scott Dawson
  • Baron Corbin
  • Mojo Rawley
  • Tye Dillinger
  • Woken Matt
  • Dolph Ziggler
  • Fandango
  • Tyler Breeze
  • Goldust
  • Heath Slater
  • Rhyno
  • Zack Ryder
  • Primo
  • Kane
  • Curt Hawkins
  • Shelton Benjamin
  • Chad Gable
  • Aiden English
  • Elias
  • Luke Gallows
  • Karl Anderson
  • R-Truth
  • Bo Dallas
  • Curtis Axel
  • Titus O’Neil
  • Apollo
  • Sin Cara
  • Mike Kanellis

So as we can see right off the bat the Men’s Battle Royal has far more named competitors involved. I don’t see as many surprises in this match just for the fact they have already named so many people. The field is much more scattered on the men’s side just due to so many forgotten wrestlers involved. Not that fans have forgotten about any of them but at times it feels like the creative team may have.

A lot of teams are involved in this match with Gallows/Anderson, Titus Worldwide, Revival, Miztourage, Slater/Rhyno, Gable/Benjamin, Fashion Police, and even a possible reunion of Ryder/Hawkins. Many of these teams have feuded with one another of the past months and could make for easy storytelling during the match.

The lack of Bray Wyatt going into Sunday is very intriguing. After the Ultimate Deletion, we have yet to see or hear from Bray. I personally would like to see Woken Matt get the victory as it could actually further his story as he could take it to another level. Bray’s involvement could be key to that victory. Whether has Brother Bray or another form, he could either help or be the final hurdle.

So with WrestleMania just hours away, stay tuned to everything Wrestlaholic for live coverage, match results and analysis.
