Here it is folks, the golden loves collide, and everything is on the line. Whoever wins this match goes through as the winner of the B-Block to face Hiroshi Tanahashi. We’re in for a real classic here, no doubt about it.
G1 Climax B-Block Final: Kenny Omega vs Kota Ibushi:
The Golden Lovers have spent the entire year looking to “change the world” and tonight we get the match everyone wanted last year. The greatest pair in pro wrestling today, squaring off for the first time since 2012 (in the same venue by the way), the only man to kick out of the One-Winged Angel versus the most dominant force in pro wrestling today.
These two know each other better than any other set of wrestlers on the roster, and given the history between these two, and what’s on the line, look for these competitors to really shine.
Kenny already starting off hot and Ibushi doesn’t seem to be keeping up early, Kenny really dictating the tempo here with strikes early on, Kenny is not holding back on his teammate.
Ibushi still hasn’t really found an answer to the absolute onslaught Kenny has been throwing at him, including the signature Rise of the Terminator. Kenny scales the top turnbuckle but Ibushi finally finds his stride and lands a Pele Kick and lands a Super-Rana and follows up with the Golden Triangle to the outside.
Ibushi really takes the driver’s seat here and hits an early Kami Go-Ye but Kenny miraculously kicks out. After which the two start to exchange sickening strikes which end with a devastating V-Trigger from Kenny.
Kenny looked as amazing as ever, but, Ibushi hits Omega with a Super Tiger Driver and yet another Kami Go-Ye and vanquishes Kenny yet again. The pair immediately embrace after the match, Kota Ibushi emerges from a 4-way tie to win the G1 climax 28 B-block.
After the proceedings, Kenny has the Young Bucks tend to Ibushi and the 4 raise each other’s hands in the center of the ring. Showing that even though these two engaged in such a ferocious match, their bond has not faded in the slightest.
Winner: Kota Ibushi
B-Block winner: Kota Ibushi
Kota finishes the night thanking the elite and the rest of the NJPW roster, and he then exclaims that his G1 is not over and he will win the final tomorrow. And of course we will have you covered for that match right here.
